It is our opinion that consideration of any one of these practices involves awareness as well as an impact analysis to the other two practices. For example, if engaged to monitor and tune a slow running service that is part of a larger business process, Never Summer Innovations would definitely analyze the service; however, we would also evaluate the efficiency of the larger business process definition (i.e., “to-be”) as the service itself may be fine but how the service is being used could be the problem. In addition, understanding the existing (“realized”) architecture and potential deficiencies could also be a contributor to the slow running service.
