Michael Bonavida
Analyst/Integration Management
Michael is a Senior Analyst / Integration Manager with extensive domestic and international experience managing large and small software development projects, client accounts, business and systems analysis, and solutions implementation. His integration management experiences range across subject areas including GIS Work Management Solutions, Telecommunications Billing and Order OMS Solutions, and Government Health Care Solutions.
More recently, Michael has specialized in managing implementations of vendor solutions into Utility IT enterprises while achieving specific business objectives for Vegetation Management Programs. He has a proven track record of partnering with client organizations to manage and lead successful, on-time, on-budget implementations of operations support systems projects.
In additional to his integration managing skills, Michael provides both business analysis and IT Technical services across a variety of tasks to support an overall implementation. These skills and responsibilities include:
- Leading the business requirements and business process development for new geospatial solutions
- Leading the business case cost benefit analysis including estimating benefits from future state business processes and efficiencies from technology utilization
- Leading the request for proposal and vendor evaluation due diligence process on solutions of multi-million dollar spends, yet yielding large dollar savings for the business over time
- Leading the project team to design multiple integrations with legacy systems and data model for migration from legacy system to new solution
- Leading the Acceptance Testing efforts for Vegetation Management Business Programs while providing the leadership to hold product vendors accountable for quality, schedule and completeness
- Leading the creation of a comprehensive roll-out plan covering end user training, software production deployments, end user support and production validation
- Planning and facilitating formal and informal project communication including status, issues, risks and end user changes
Patrick Rice
Functional/Technical Architect
Patrick is a Senior Functional and Technical Architect responsible for solution architecture, both functional and technical, with experience in the electric utilities, health care, and telecommunications industries.
For the past decade, Patrick has focused on systems for Electric Distribution and Transmission Utilities to meet regulatory requirements such as Substation Reliability, Asset Inspection and Maintenance, and Vegetation Management.
For each system initiative, Patrick has responsibility in developing the overall functional and technical solution designs, network models, logical and physical infrastructure, database and security designs, integrations, and any applicable 3rd party COTS (off-the-shelf), and/or custom-built application designs. As system projects progress through the implementation phase, Patrick will split his time in managing the technical aspects of working with 3rd party vendors, leading support staff from internal Utility IT organizations, and finally as needed, roll up his sleeves and develop services, scripts, reports, etc., to support whatever technical gaps need to be filled. Below is a high-level summary of skills based on Patrick’s 30+ years of IT and business experience:
- Technical Solution Leadership
- Direct Solution Architecture to “fit” within the Utilities Enterprise Architecture
- Liaison to the Utilities Technical Internal Organizations (Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, Networks, Database, Supporting IT Groups, etc.)
- General Technical and GIS Support (Environments, Software configuration, testing support, etc.)
- Hands on experience in Geospatial Data Modeling (ESRI tools, Python scripting, etc.)
- Database Management and SQL Query experience on nearly every platform that has existed in the past 30 years (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.)
- Application, Web, and Database Server plus Disk Storage Management Experience across many platforms (Windows, IIS, Linux, Mainframe, SAN Configurations)
- Performance Tuning across various systems, platforms, etc. (load based, stress, scalability, etc.)
- Other systems experience such as Data Warehouse Reporting implementations, Business Process Management workflow systems, etc. that are common to most every project
